This course equips nursing students with a foundational understanding of mental health, psychiatric disorders, and their underlying causes. Students will develop the clinical skills needed to identify psychiatric symptoms, formulate nursing diagnoses, and promote holistic mental wellness across communities. The curriculum emphasizes the thorough assessment of patient behavior, cognition, and emotions in challenging psychiatric scenarios. Additionally, students will examine medically unexplained physical symptoms—learning to recognize and manage psychological distress that manifests as insomnia, exhaustion, anxiety, and somatic dysfunction.
