English Composition II builds on the skills students learned in English Composition 1 and helps them improve their writing for academic purposes. Students will learn how to write complex sentences, use different types of sentences, connect their ideas with transition words, and maintain verb tense consistency. Students will also practise how to select relevant information to support their paragraph writing. By creating detailed outlines and doing writing exercises, students will develop the ability to communicate in an academic setting. This course provides students with the writing tools they need to pursue their academic goals.
The Core English II course is designed to further enhance students’ foundational English communication skills, preparing them for interactions in everyday situations. Through a combination of listening, speaking, and reading activities, students can better comprehend spoken instructions and key information, articulate their thoughts, and identify main ideas in varied reading materials. Students will be able to use the present continuous, past simple, comparative and superlative adjectives and modal verbs for request and permission to communicate their ideas in various situations. Furthermore, the course enables students to apply their English language skills in a real-world context, encouraging active participation and mutual learning. Upon completing this course, students will enhance their fundamental English skills, develop critical thinking skills, and build teamwork to make everyday conversations and class presentations.
